Our Commitment

Since we joined the fight against hunger in 2000, Tyson Foods has partnered with several national organizations including America’s Second Harvest and Share Our Strength to help make a difference where we can. Through these partnerships, Tyson Foods has donated more than 54 million pounds of chicken, beef or pork – enough for approximately 216 million meals – to food banks and agencies serving local communities around the country.

Along the way, we have helped develop or support many other unique initiatives as well. Click on the links below to find out more about these programs and how they are helping feed those in need.

  • Powering the Spirit – a fund-raising program led and implemented by Tyson Team Members in more than 50 communities across the country. Last year alone, our Team Members raised more than $150,000 for the fight against hunger in partnership with Share Our Strength.
  • Student Food Drive to End Hunger – engaging high school students to help collect food for local food banks in partnership with America's Second Harvest - the Nation's Food Bank Network.
  • Lift Up America – teaming up with this organization and professional and college sports teams to donate protein and bring hope to the less fortunate.
  • Disaster Relief – being a first-responder on the scene with much needed protein in the aftermath of a natural disaster or other major crisis.
  • Diverse Communities Support - Tyson collaborates with organizations such as League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU), and colleges and universities associated with Tyson's own Executive Diversity Business Council to fight hunger in communities across the U.S.

Are kids still excited about wearing their costume from Halloween? Dress ‘em up and take them to the grocery store to trick or treat for canned goods for the food bank. Let them take their baskets and fill ‘em for the food bank and then deliver the purchased goods to your local food bank in costume!
